What do you think Lame horse or not.????
My Mare done her knee back in Nov 06 and called the vet out when i noticed a golf ball size lump on the left of her right knee cap. So the vet said to me i have bad news, she cannot be riden anymore, put her in foal instead. So i have taken the vets advice and tried to put her in foal, then rode her down to the vet (30mins) walk and she pulled up beautifully. The vet was amazed to see her riden and said start doing light work on her. His explanation was that he believed that she has chipped a bone on her knee cap and the floating bone then knicked her ligement and the golf ball size lump is ligement oil. What do you think.???? She has been on 2 rides so far and has pulled up beautifully both times without any lameness in her knee.
Can’t give an honest answer without seeing her,but maybe light work is ok…Just keep running a hand over her legs feeling for hotspots….All the usual precautionary stuff
